On a recent visit to Ojai, California, I had the pleasure of experiencing a visit to Meditation mount. Meditation mount is a meditation center in one of the most spiritual places in the Ojai Valley (Ojai is also known for being an Energy Vortex). If you are ever in Ojai or Ventura County, I highly recommend taking some time to slow down and turn inward at Meditation Mount. They offer visitations that require pre-registration, but also have virtual meditations if you won’t be in the area anytime soon.
Below I’m sharing a guide to Meditation Mount so you can know what to expect on your visit to this spiritual sanctuary:
Guide to Meditation Mount in Ojai, California
What is Meditation Mount?
Meditation mount is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the building of an enlightened and compassionate world through the power of Creative Meditation, inspirational educational programs, and community-based events focused on the practical application of the following universal spiritual principles:
Universal Spiritual Principals:
Right Human Relations: The inclusive practice of loving understanding that treats all beings with respect and dignity
Goodwill: a powerful and abundant energy that nourishes the greatest good or all life
Group Endeavor: the group-conscious, collaborative energy that moves us to think and act purposefully together on behalf of the whole
Unanimity: the recognition of the fact of “one humanity” and the importance of each individual as a unique expression of the one life
Spiritual approach: the inevitable movement of life to an ever-expanding state of wholeness and joy, through a living relationship with the divine presence
Essential divinity: the acknowledgment and honoring of the Diving Presence in every person and in all life
What to do during a visit to Meditation Mount?
There are a few ways that they encourage you to enjoy the property during your visit
– Meditative walk: Take a meditative walk through the International Garden of Peace (this was my personal favorite!)
– Listen to guided audio meditations on the Universal Principals and Pathways
– Take part in a group Creative Meditation to transmit blessings to a world in need
There are also regular events like sound meditation, guided insight journaling, and sunset yoga depending on the day that you visit.
What is Creative Meditation?
Creative meditation uses specific tools and techniques to promote the building of a shared, preferred future focused on serving the greater good and serving the needs of our world. These tools include concentration, reflectiveness, receptiveness, prayer, imagination, affirmation, invocation and telepathic radiation and blessing.
Meditationmount.org describes it well: “Through the practice of Creative Meditation, we transmit energies and qualities into the subtle realms that surround the Earth so that the ‘spiritual bio-sphere’ may be infused with seed-ideas of new possibilities that help our deepest aspirations to be realized and manifested.
Creative Meditation is the art and science of creating complete ‘living thought forms’ that are beneficial to all life. These thought-forms are the magnetic seed ideas of new possibilities made up of a balanced fusion of thought, feeling, imagination and will.”
This is such a unique form of meditation and I love that it brings people together to meditate for the greater good.
Best Time to Visit Meditation mount:
Any time of year is a great time to visit Meditation Mount as the weather in the area is mild and there are both indoor and outdoor ways to enjoy the Mount. I went on a day that rained and actually loved it (even the outdoor activities) because I had the place to myself for a while.
The schedule varies but there are usually one or two windows of time available for visitations on the days that they are open. Some are morning visitations and some are available at sunset which would be beautiful!
If I were to pick one time that is best, I would suggest going for the full moon so you can take part in one of the special full moon meditations.
Meditation Mount Schedule:
The schedule varies but the full calendar is available on their website here:
I hope you have a chance to visit in person soon but if you don’t check out their website hereto learn more about Creative Meditation, the Universal Principals and Pathways, and try some of their virtual offerings.
