I am so excited to share all that is coming together for my clothing line launch, Love Lillett. This project came to life in such a beautiful, divine way, and I’d like to share a little bit of this sacred story with you today. 

How To Start A Clothing Line: My First Time

The Love Lillett Product Journey

I was sitting on a gorgeous New England beach last August with my girlfriends (the moment captured in this snapshot). It was a quiet, beautiful time for us, sharing our dreams and desires, and soaking in encouragement from one another. As I was thinking of what I dreamt for the future, from somewhere deep down within, the words, “I’m going to start a clothing line,” tumbled out of my mouth. And that was it. The words were free-floating into the universe. I like to say the spell was cast, and there was no turning back.

In that instance, my dear friend (and the Founder/CEO of Barre & Soul, Andrea) said she knew someone who could help me take that dream and turn it into a reality. That’s when I knew this was possible. I had simply spoken what my heart was really desiring, and in that instance, there was an answer and a way to accomplish it. Sometimes we really just have to stop thinking about our dreams and start speaking them and manifesting them because there are people all around that the universe has there to help us. So I teamed up with Andrea’s designer friend, Megan, and Love Lillett was on its way to fruition.

Through weeks of sketching, designing, and sampling fabrics, something wasn’t quite 100% speaking to my heart, and this was the year I learned to live only through the wisdom of my heart, so I had to tune in and see what was amiss. At the time, we were meeting with various fabric houses, and all the fabrics felt familiar from my life in retail, and nothing felt special.

I had a dream for this line to feel fun, mystical, and ethereal.

At the same time as all of this, I had just begun a practice of very deep, spiritual paintings, translating to the canvas what I came to understand from my time in Avalon in July with my Priestess SiSTARs. These paintings were multilayered and held a lot of depth and meaning to me. They did spark that passion and fire in my heart, unlike the fabrics that we were looking at. So the idea came to me—could my paintings become the clothes? I reached out to Megan and asked if there was a way to make this happen, and she was ecstatic: YES!

She connected with Liz in Joshua Tree, who would be able to convert the paintings I was creating into digital files, and I knew this was the route my heart was leading me towards. So I packed up my paintings, shipped them off to Joshua Tree for scanning, and the process truly began.

This whole experience has felt so easy and natural that I know following my heart in this was the right choice. Every piece has fallen into place so seamlessly – like a gift from the universe. As Megan and I were choosing what fabric to print the pieces on, I knew I wanted to use silks so the line had a luxurious feel. She sent me a sample pack of silks, and as I opened them, yet another beautiful sign of reassurance sat in my lap. The silks were called Bennett silks, and my son’s name is Bennett. My daughter’s name is Lillett, which is who the line was named for. It was such a beautiful moment of synergy and coming together of every little thing, and I knew in that moment that this was a decision I didn’t once need to question.

I have always had a passion for the way we adorn ourselves, since childhood!

I believe the frequency and energy of what we wear tells others so much about us, and I have a passion for wearing things that radiate the frequency within me. This line is the most authentic creation I have put out into the world, and I am so excited to share it. As the production of this debut line begins to wind down, my heart is filled with so much gratitude for this whole journey. I would never imagine in July of last year that I would be so wholeheartedly chasing this dream and living in it.

I’m headed to Miami at the end of the month to do product shoots for the Love Lillett line, and in March, we will introduce this beautiful project to the world. I am so incredibly grateful for this beautiful process, the opportunity to work with Megan, and the encouragement from my tribe to pursue this dream. Love Lillett is such a source of joy and holds so much sacred meaning to me. I can’t wait to unveil her to all of you!
