With the start of the new year, many of us have been searching for ways to better ourselves and further our intentions. When we dream of who we want to become and the frequency we want to vibrate at, it can sometimes feel like a great divide between where we are and where we want to be. Raising our vibrations and aligning our intuition can sound amazing until we have to do the work of growing, the taking action part. It can feel daunting and far out of reach.
That is where I’ve found the work of rituals to be so pivotal in my own growth and ascension journey. Instilling the practice of ritual in my life has become such a powerful tool for self transformation. Rituals are pivotal to help us turn our energy toward who we are becoming. Whatever you call them—rituals, rhythms, habits, practices—what we devote our time and self-discipline to doing every single day, or once a week, or month, greatly impacts the kind of people we become.
the power of ritual
The power of ritual has shown me so many things—how to care for myself, how to commit, how to believe in something bigger than myself, how to practice self-discipline and self-development.
There is something life-altering about committing to a practice on a cyclical basis, and tuning in to the ways you progressively change internally.
Rituals can be something as small as making your bed every morning, so you don’t absorb the energy of clutter. It can be as grand as praying/meditating five times a day. But whatever rituals you impose in your life, remember that they are there to give you structure, guidance, and growth.
When I was doing my series at the end of 2022 on Raising Your Vibrations, many of the things I shared are part of my daily ritual to help ground myself and raise my frequency. Whenever I can, I like to begin my morning with time outside, watching the sun rise, sitting in the grass and soaking in the environment around me. This small spiritual practice helps me feel grounded and centered, by taking 10 to 20 minutes every morning of quiet peace and sometimes on darker winter mornings this is simply opening the sunroof as I drive my kiddos to school. The ritual of gratitude has also been powerful in my life. By vocalizing or thinking daily about the things I find myself grateful for, I instill a practice of thoughtfulness, and love into my daily routine. I love to do this before I get out of bed in the morning to start my day in a state of gratitude.
There are so many small rituals or practices we can incorporate into our daily rhythms to help us raise our vibrations and grow closer to our most enlightened selves.
Examples of small rituals
Meditating.
Breath work. Journaling.
Gratitude practice.
Spending time outdoors.
Hydrating and fueling our body with good, wholesome food.
Showing intentional love to friends.
Reading books to expand our minds. From John Green to rare finds- reading allows us to travel time and space.
Waking up to see the sunrise.
Conscious screen-free time.
Pulling tarot cards.
Quiet good deeds for others.
Listen to an award winning podcard.
Every small ritual or spiritual practice you place into the rhythms of your life is like the butterfly effect. Small changes you make to your life can have astounding effects on who you are, and even who the people around you are.
I’ve found in my own personal life that after years of practicing my own rituals, I have become someone who is more loving, aware, open, intuitive, joyful and grateful. These are all things that overflow into the lives of people around us as well. We are not isolated beings, and every drop of intention that we put into our own self-betterment touches the people we come in contact with daily. After a crisis of social isolation, spiritual practices allow us to connect to one another and find meaning in our strange new world. When we do the work of becoming (enlightening ourselves!) we become a light and a positive energy source for the people we love the most.
Rituals help us to bring a degree of predictability to an uncertain future. They help us develop the self-discipline and practice to manifest the future we desire, and they help us be more in tune with our inner selves to connect to our desires. When you change your frequency through ritual, you change your life.
What rituals have you been incorporating into your life rhythms for 2023?
With love,
Katie
